1) Freight and Shipping
Shipping is by motor freight LTL. The finished order is protectively wrapped in plastic wrap and cardboard and
securely strapped to a pallet. In the case of international shipments or shipments to Hawaii and Alaska, the
order is fully crated for additional protection.
The biggest factor in the cost of shipping is residential versus commercial business address. It typically costs 3
times as much to ship to a residence as a business (home businesses are still residential). So even if you don't
have a business address readily available, its worth while to do a little leg work and find one.
We can ship onto U. S. Military bases (which are considered business addresses), but cannot ship to APOs.
International shipments are made to the nearest port of entry where you will need to pick up.
Please fully examine your package before signing for it. If you do not report damage to the carrier at the time of
delivery, there is usually very little we can do to help you. All shipments are insured by the carrier. If you
suspect there may be hidden damage, make the delivery driver wait and open the package!
2) Lights
Can I reuse the factory fog lights that came with my truck? No, with almost no exception those lights snap into
the bumper using plastic tabs and do not post mount like after market off road lights.
These are the standard lights we use:
5" 55 watt driving or spot: ProComp 55 part # 9551
5" 55 watt fog: ProComp 55 Part # 9561
6-3/8" driving: Hella 500 76110
6-3/8" fog: Hella 500 76210
The Hella lights come with a switch/relay kit, the ProComps do not. A switch kit can be purchased separately
for the ProComps ($17.50) if you are not planning on tying into a factory wiring harness.
If you wish to use a different light, we'll be happy to accommodate you. We can supply many lights or you are
welcome to supply your own lights and we'll fit them to the bumper. If we do not have the template for a light,
you may need to send them to us for fitting and then we'll ship them back with your order. There is an $85
charge for custom light fitting.
What is the light bar? Do I need to have a grill guard to get a light bar? The light bar is a place to mount
additional lights over the winch box. It will either run between the uprights bars on the grill guard or will be
formed and attach to the top of the winch bumper if you are not ordering a grill guard. The light bar is designed
to handle two lights. Additional light tabs can be ordered and the tab locations can be customized. Please
discuss with your sales representative when placing your order.
3) Paint: I hit a Honda, how do I fix the paint?
Fortunately, your paint is sprayed on, so its a simple matter of some sanding and spray on a new coat.
The standard satin black finish is a Sherwin Williams oil-based coating, part#
The gloss black and aluminum/silver-brite are PPG finishes, part# for the black and part# for the silver.
4) What is the difference between a D ring and a the shackle mount?
The D ring is permanently attached, but swivels. The shackle mount is designed for use with a screw pin type
shackle (not supplied). See bottom of Wincher page for close up view: click here.
The T44 shackle with a 3/4" pin can be ordered separately, please talk to your sales representative.
